Livecode -> Modular
A downloadable tool
What's better than both livecoding and modular synthesis? Combining the two, of course! This is a dual-patch system (a 'sender' and a 'receiver' ) that work(s) together to transmit signals from Sonic Pi to Bitwig's Poly Grid.
(Technically you can send and receive this to any modular system, MIDI controller, etc -- bring your own loopback and anything is possible!)
Don't have Bitwig? You can do all of this in demo mode. Saving is for wieners!
This makeshift 'system' (if we're going to call it that, and I certainly am!) gives you the tools (and a mighty fine template, not to toot my own horn) to generate a nearly-infinite number of clock signals (via both note and CC data), transmit them via MIDI through the Poly Grid and even visualize them with oscilloscopes by default. Then when you're ready, you can create some massive patches with the whole thing!
- Learn how to use the Sonic Pi livecoding environment
- Learn the concepts of live-looping
- Use my predefined timing constants for easy tempo switches
- Check out the euclidean generator included!
- See how MIDI signals can be converted to triggers
- Learn how to use MIDI loopbacks
- Experiment with modular synthesis
- Explore livecoding and modular together!
As always, more presets and tutorial videos will be added periodically!
