Break The Cipher

At last -- a game!

Well, sort of.

Break The Cipher is a series of encoded messages (in neatly-numbered .txt files, for your hacking pleasure) for you to decrypt -- whether inside of a programming language like Python or Processing, or even on pen-and-paper. Use whatever tools you've got at your disposal to hone your problem-solving skills and reveal 10 individual secret messages in the process!

• Or, if you're really up for a challenge, do it all on paper!

I built this cipher from scratch, so this is best-suited for beginner-to-intermediate hackers or puzzle-solvers -- and there are even hints to be obtained along the way, if you'd like some help on your journey while also supporting experimental projects and games like these.

About "Hint Packs"

• Hint Pack #1 reveals crucial information about the type of cipher, and one very important extra detail-- for some users, this will be just enough information if they're genuinely stuck.

• Hint Pack #2 reveals extremely detailed information that will likely lead to you solving the cipher quickly -- don't use this one unless you're really stuck, and / or want to generously support projects like these (and in the second event, you are a kind soul!).

About the Decryptor program

You can technically obtain my custom decryptor, but I must warn you -- combined with the hint packs, this will solve everything and most likely ruin the fun for most users. Only buy the decryptor if you're positive that you want the answer revealed, or if you just love supporting projects like these -- otherwise, you're going to end up beating the game with cheat codes, so to speak.
