VFX Livecoding Interface

A sleek, mini-livecoding experience!

This is a miniature livecoding environment all rolled up into a simple VFX script, for use inside of FL Studio's Patcher, complete with:

• A very simple number-based syntax
• On-the-fly / realtime code evaluation
• A nifty 'everything wraps around' system for unique pattern generation
• A sleek, compact user interface
• A unique drum mode
• 9 individual timing resolution settings
• Helpful tooltips galore!

Inspired by environments like Sonic Pi, Orca, Tidal Cyles and others, I set out  to create a simple, easy-to-use interface for complex pattern generation that makes 'happy accidents' part of the equation on purpose, and after loads of refinement and reiteration, this is the result of that.

Honestly, I couldn't be happier with it, and I think you're going to dig it as well!

Here's how it works:

• Gates can be either a '0' or a '1'
• 
• Notes can be any value between 0-127
• 
• Velocities can be any value between 0-127
• 
• Everything is simply delimited by a space (example: 10 25 50)

My favorite part is the 'wrap around' system - if you enter an uneven number of velocities, gates or notes, it'll just trigger the next value in succession on the next trigger -- so not only do you not have to worry about miscalculating, but you'll often get surprising, inspiring patterns you didn't even expect!

As stated above, everything evaluates on the fly, so you can even use this while you're in the middle of performing without having the music stop, so you can create interesting and complex patterns as you go!
