Build your own modules!

But first: Voltage Module Designer is free to use for everyone, and you can download it from Cherry Audio's website. As usual, I am not affiliated with Cherry Audio in any way, although I do currently have a free module that you can download in the store if you'd like!

This is a tutorial video for use with Voltage Modular's Module Designer in order to help you get started with coding your very own module. In this nearly-20-minute tutorial, we cover a wide array of topics such as:

GUI elements and methods
Resizing, scaling and modifying the GUI
Knobs, LEDs, and jacks
The audio processing library
Callbacks / 'notify' blocks
The main processing block
Debugging and visualizing signals
Creating a conditional macro knob
Libraries and imports
Creating our own sine oscillator module
Creating our own squarewave oscillator module

By the end of the video, you should have a robust concept of how to build both a macro knob (from -5 to +5 v) from absolute scratch, as well as an analog oscillator module using objects from the built-in audio processing library.

Warning: Java required!

While it would've been nice to create an entire Java tutorial alongside this one, it would've likely been overkill; provided you understand the basics of OOP (object-oriented programming) you're not likely going to have any issues, but using this as an introduction to coding isn't recommended, unless you really want to try and tackle both at once; do so at your own risk!

With that said, hopefully this will help you get started with the extremely easy-to-use Module Designer, and I hope you like it!
