Actually, that's a lie. I can't really remember which one bit me, but I'm sure it was pretty damn cheap.

Anyway -- moving on!

Rather than simply posting links and looking like a shill for X or Y retailers, I'll instead give you a good rule of thumb:

• Yes, the $2-$3 boards work (I'm using one for this project!)
• Yes, the $1 radio modules work (see above)
• Yes, those very cheap overseas retailers are selling decent ones

My entire 'spiritbox' setup cost me about $6, give or take a few pennies, so you're not going to go wrong. This sketch uses the tea5767 module, which is extremely cheap, so you've got nothing to worry about when going for the low-end.
